A multi-phase project, Glendale Shops converted an existing interior shopping mall to an open air town center. New one and two-story commercial tenant space was designed to encompass an existing Macy’s department store. The perception of the shopping mall from an internalized building surrounded by parking lots to an inviting externalized center reinvents the shopping experience. Layers of materiality give visual interest to the facades and lead the eye of the shopper beyond their initial destination.
